oh!shoot is a photo studio and photobooth rental company at 3816 Main St, Culver City, CA 90232. This page describes what we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to match what the site actually does — not a template.
The short version. This site has no analytics, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies. The only information we get is what you type into one of the two forms, and we use it to answer you.
What we collect
When you send a booking enquiry, we receive your name, email address, event date, event type, guest count, curtain preference and your message. The form also carries the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign values from the link you arrived on, so we can tell which of our own posts or listings brought you here, plus a note of which prompt on the page you were looking at when you decided to write to us. None of that is a profile of you — it tells us which of our own pages is doing its job.
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we receive your email address and nothing else.
Recorded automatically with either submission, by our host: your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. These come attached to the submission and are used to filter spam.
Server logs. Our host keeps standard web server logs of requests to the site.
What we do not collect
- No analytics of any kind — no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording.
- No advertising or tracking cookies. This site sets no cookies at all.
- We store two flags in your browser's local storage: one so the newsletter pop-up does not reappear after you have seen or dismissed it, and one so the booking-availability bar does not reappear after you dismiss it. Both stay in your browser, are never transmitted to us, and clearing your site data removes them.
Who else handles it
- Netlify hosts the site, stores form submissions and runs the spam filtering applied to them.
- Google Workspace carries the mail. Submissions are forwarded to our own inboxes, and our replies to you are sent from there.
- Square handles invoicing and payment if you go on to book. Card details are entered with Square and never reach us — we see only that an invoice was paid.
- jsDelivr serves the typeface this site uses. Loading a font from a CDN means that CDN can see your IP address, the same as any other request your browser makes.
- CARTO and the OpenStreetMap project supply the background tiles for the booth location map. The map only loads on pages that show it, and like any other request your browser makes, the tile server can see your IP address. The map does not identify you to us and we get nothing back from it.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done either.
Why we keep it, and for how long
Enquiries are kept for as long as we are talking with you and for as long as we need them as a record of the work — a booking is a contract, and we keep the correspondence behind it. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the footer of any newsletter we send.
Photos taken at the booth
Photos shot in our booth or at an event we staffed may appear on this site, on our Instagram and TikTok, and in material we show prospective clients. If you appear in a photo we have published and would like it taken down, email contact@ohshoot.net and we will remove it — you do not need to explain why.
Your choices
Email contact@ohshoot.net to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will not charge you for it or treat you differently for asking.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing. As above: we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, and the same email address handles the rest.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information through it. If a child has sent us something through a form, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. This version replaces the policy previously published on our Wix site.
